Reliable Manta M8P By BTT for Klipper 3D Printer Control
The Manta M8P By BTT is a feature-rich 3D printer control board designed for Klipper, Mainsail, Rat Rig, Voron, CoreXY, and DIY printer electronics builds. It is built around a stable 32-bit 64MHz ARM Cortex-M0+ STM32G0B1VET6 chip and includes a TPS5450-5A power chip for onboard power management.
Your current dnb3D product page lists the Manta M8P with 8 stepper motor slots, onboard single board computer integration, selectable 5V/12V/24V CNC fan voltage, circuit overload protection, USB-OTG or UART to USB, 3 USB-Host 2.0 ports, 2 Micro HDMI ports, multiple PWM fan outputs, an always-on fan, and an SoC fan port.
8 Stepper Motor Slots for Advanced Printer Builds
The Manta M8P control board includes 8 stepper motor slots, making it useful for advanced 3D printer builds that need more motion control capacity than smaller boards. This can support larger CoreXY machines, multi-driver setups, independent motor configurations, toolhead expansions, dual Z or quad gantry leveling-style layouts, and other feature-rich printer electronics designs depending on firmware and machine configuration.
Onboard CB1 and CM4 Single Board Computer Integration
One of the main advantages of the Manta M8P is onboard single board computer integration. The board can connect directly to the BIGTREETECH CB1 or compatible CM4-style module, allowing Klipper and Mainsail to run without requiring an external Raspberry Pi-style SBC. This can reduce wiring clutter, save space, and simplify electronics bay layout.
Klipper and Mainsail Electronics Platform
The Manta M8P is well suited for Klipper printer control. Your dnb3D product page notes that dnb3D runs Klipper on its 3D printer DIY kits using the PI4B/CB1 in conjunction with Manta M8P and/or Octopus V1.1 control boards. When paired with the CB1, the Manta M8P can act as an integrated printer electronics platform for modern Klipper-based machines.
Flexible Fan and Cooling Support
The board includes selectable CNC fan voltage options for 5V, 12V, or 24V, plus multiple fan outputs. Your page lists 5 two-pin PWM fan outputs, 2 four-pin PWM fan outputs, 1 always-on fan, and 1 SoC fan. This gives builders flexibility for hotend fans, part cooling fans, electronics bay fans, controller cooling, and single board computer cooling depending on the printer wiring plan.
USB, HDMI, and Expansion Features
The Manta M8P includes 1 USB-OTG or UART-to-USB connection, 3 USB-Host 2.0 ports, and 2 Micro HDMI ports according to your product page. These connections can support Klipper setup, USB accessories, screen/display output, firmware access, and printer electronics integration depending on the CB1/CM4 module and build configuration.
Pairs with CB1, Pi4B Adapter, and CB1 Heatsink
The BIGTREETECH CB1 can connect directly to the Manta M8P to create a space-saving Klipper electronics setup. The BTT Pi4B Adapter is a separate option for builders who want the CB1 or CM4 to run as a Raspberry Pi 4B-style standalone single board computer instead. The CB1 Heat Sink PI4B is sold separately and can help with CB1 thermal management in compatible setups.
Build a Complete BTT Klipper Electronics Setup
This product can be used as part of a BIGTREETECH Klipper electronics setup. Pair it with the BIGTREETECH CB1, BTT Pi4B Adapter, and CB1 Heat Sink PI4B depending on your printer build. These products are sold separately unless specifically listed as part of a bundle or kit.

Installation & Care
Installation, Handling & Care
Confirm Board Version and Documentation
Before installing the Manta M8P By BTT, confirm the exact board version, official pinout, firmware files, driver compatibility, power input requirements, and wiring documentation. Control board revisions can vary, so always follow the documentation for your exact board.
Power Off Before Wiring
Disconnect all power before installing the Manta M8P, stepper drivers, CB1 or CM4 module, fans, heaters, endstops, probes, motors, USB cables, HDMI cables, or other electronics. Never plug or unplug wiring while the board is powered unless the documentation specifically allows it.
Set Fan Voltage Jumpers Carefully
This board supports selectable CNC fan voltage options for 5V, 12V, and 24V. Confirm the correct voltage before connecting fans. Incorrect fan voltage can damage fans, toolhead electronics, or the control board.
Confirm Stepper Driver Installation
Install stepper drivers in the correct orientation and confirm driver type, jumper configuration, UART/SPI settings, motor current, cooling, and firmware configuration before powering the board. Incorrect driver installation can damage the board or drivers.
Install CB1 or CM4 Module Carefully
If using the BIGTREETECH CB1 or a compatible CM4 module directly on the Manta M8P, confirm module orientation, seating, heatsink clearance, firmware image, and cooling before applying power. The CB1 heatsink is sold separately.
Use Correct Firmware and Pin Configuration
Use firmware files and configuration examples intended for the Manta M8P and your exact printer setup. Incorrect pin assignments, heater settings, fan settings, thermistor types, or motor configurations can cause unreliable operation or hardware damage.
Check Power, Fusing, and Wire Gauge
Confirm power supply voltage, input polarity, wire gauge, fuse protection, bed and hotend heater current, and terminal tightness before powering the printer. High-current printer wiring should be installed carefully and inspected regularly.
Test One Subsystem at a Time
After installation, test power, communication, fans, endstops, probes, heaters, thermistors, motors, and Klipper/Mainsail access one step at a time. Do not start a full print until each subsystem has been verified safely.
Provide Electronics Bay Cooling
Printer control boards, stepper drivers, power electronics, and compute modules generate heat. Use proper electronics bay airflow, fan placement, heatsinks, and cable management so the Manta M8P, drivers, CB1/CM4 module, and wiring stay within safe operating conditions.
Protect the Board from Shorts and Debris
Mount the board on proper standoffs and keep it away from loose screws, metal chips, conductive dust, filament strands, moisture, and uninsulated wiring. A small short circuit can permanently damage printer electronics.
