Product Details

Reliable BIGTREETECH CB1 for Klipper 3D Printer Electronics

The BIGTREETECH CB1 is a compact compute module designed for Klipper, Mainsail, and advanced 3D printer electronics builds. It provides a practical alternative to a Raspberry Pi CM4-style setup, with a quad-core 64-bit ARM Cortex-A53 processor running at 1.5GHz and 1GB DDR3 RAM.

The CB1 can connect directly to compatible BIGTREETECH Manta control boards, including Manta M4P, Manta M8P, and Manta M5P. It can also be paired with the BTT Pi4B Adapter to create a Raspberry Pi 4B-style single board computer layout for Klipper-based printer builds. The CB1 Heat Sink PI4B is sold separately.

Klipper and Mainsail Ready Compute Module

The BIGTREETECH CB1 is commonly used to run Klipper and Mainsail in 3D printer builds. Instead of relying on a separate Raspberry Pi-style SBC, the CB1 can act as the printer’s compute module when paired with compatible BTT electronics. This can help simplify wiring, reduce electronics bay clutter, and create a cleaner integrated control system.

Quad-Core 64-Bit ARM Performance

The CB1 uses a quad-core 64-bit ARM Cortex-A53 processor running at 1.5GHz with 1GB DDR3 RAM. This gives it the processing capability needed for common Klipper printer-control tasks, web interface access, configuration management, printer communication, and connected printer electronics workflows.

Direct Manta Board Integration

One of the strongest uses for the CB1 is direct installation onto compatible BIGTREETECH Manta boards. Your current dnb3D product page notes that connecting the CB1 directly to a Manta M8P control board creates a space-saving solution that can run Klipper and Mainsail without requiring an external SBC such as a Raspberry Pi.

Pair with the BTT Pi4B Adapter

The CB1 can also be connected to the BTT Pi4B Adapter. This setup allows the CB1 to function in a Raspberry Pi 4B-style format with additional ports and familiar SBC-style mounting options. This is useful for builders who want a standalone Klipper computer rather than installing the CB1 directly onto a Manta control board.

Heatsink Sold Separately

The CB1 heatsink is sold separately. For enclosed printers, long print times, warm electronics bays, or compact installations, pairing the CB1 with the CB1 Heat Sink PI4B can help improve thermal management and long-term reliability.

Useful for Rat Rig, Voron, CoreXY, and DIY Printer Builds

The BIGTREETECH CB1 is useful for Rat Rig-style builds, Voron-style machines, CoreXY printers, Cartesian printer upgrades, custom electronics enclosures, and DIY 3D printer projects where Klipper and Mainsail control are desired. It can be used with compatible control boards, adapter boards, cooling accessories, and printer electronics depending on the build design.

Build a Complete BTT Klipper Electronics Setup

This product can be used as part of a BIGTREETECH Klipper electronics setup. Pair it with the BTT Pi4B Adapter, CB1 Heat Sink PI4B, and Manta M8P By BTT depending on your printer build. These products are sold separately unless specifically listed as part of a bundle or kit.

Installation & Care

Installation, Handling & Care

Confirm Board Compatibility

Before installing the BIGTREETECH CB1, confirm that your control board or adapter board supports the CB1 module. This includes compatible Manta boards such as the Manta M4P, Manta M8P, and Manta M5P, or the BTT Pi4B Adapter depending on your setup.

Power Off Before Handling

Disconnect power before installing, removing, or handling the CB1, adapter board, control board, heatsink, or related electronics. Avoid inserting or removing the module while the printer electronics are powered.

Check Module Orientation

Install the CB1 in the correct orientation according to the board documentation. Misalignment or incorrect seating can damage the module, adapter, or control board.

Use the Correct Firmware Image

Use the correct firmware image and setup files for the CB1. Firmware intended for a Raspberry Pi, CM4, or a different BTT board may not be compatible. Review the official BIGTREETECH documentation before flashing.

Plan for Cooling

The CB1 heatsink is sold separately. In enclosed printers, warm electronics bays, or long-running Klipper setups, use appropriate cooling and airflow. The CB1 Heat Sink PI4B can help improve thermal management when used with compatible CB1 and Pi4B Adapter setups.

Protect Connectors and Pins

Handle the CB1 carefully and avoid touching exposed contacts unnecessarily. Keep the module away from loose screws, metal chips, conductive dust, static discharge, moisture, and debris.

Check Network and Storage Setup

Before final installation, confirm your network connection method, microSD or storage setup, firmware image, and access method for Klipper or Mainsail. Test basic communication before fully closing the electronics enclosure.

Use Proper Enclosure Airflow

Printer electronics bays can become warm during long prints. Use proper ventilation, cable routing, and airflow so the CB1, controller board, stepper drivers, power supply wiring, and nearby electronics stay within safe operating conditions.
