Product Details

Reliable CB1 Heat Sink PI4B for BIGTREETECH CB1 Cooling

The CB1 Heat Sink PI4B is a cooling accessory for BIGTREETECH CB1 and BTT Pi4B Adapter-style electronics setups. When the CB1 is used as a Raspberry Pi-style single board computer alternative for Klipper, Mainsail, printer control, or connected 3D printer electronics, proper cooling can help improve long-term reliability and operating stability.

This heatsink is sold separately from the BIGTREETECH CB1 and the BTT Pi4B Adapter. It is best viewed as part of a small electronics ecosystem: the CB1 provides the compute module, the Pi4B Adapter gives it a Raspberry Pi 4B-style layout, and the heatsink helps with thermal management.

Designed for BIGTREETECH CB1 Setups

The BIGTREETECH CB1 is commonly used as an alternative to the Raspberry Pi CM4 in 3D printer electronics builds. Your CB1 product page notes that the CB1 can connect directly to BTT Manta control boards or to the BTT Pi4B Adapter, opening up Raspberry Pi-style Klipper and Mainsail solutions without needing a separate Raspberry Pi board.

Pairs with the BTT Pi4B Adapter

The CB1 Heat Sink PI4B pairs naturally with the BTT Pi4B Adapter when the CB1 is installed as the compute module. The BTT Pi4B Adapter is designed to let the CB1 or CM4 function in a Raspberry Pi 4B-style format, with interfaces such as dual micro HDMI, USB ports, Ethernet, GPIO, microSD, USB-C, camera pins, and a 5V fan input.

Helpful for Klipper 3D Printer Electronics

Klipper-based printer electronics can run for long print sessions, especially on Voron, Rat Rig, CoreXY, and DIY printer builds. A heatsink helps remove heat from the compute module during normal use, reducing thermal buildup inside electronics compartments, printer enclosures, and compact controller layouts.

Sold Separately from CB1 and Pi4B Adapter

This product is the heatsink only. The BIGTREETECH CB1 module, BTT Pi4B Adapter, Manta M8P controller board, power supply, wiring, fans, and accessories are sold separately unless specifically included in a kit or bundle.

Part of a Complete BTT Electronics Setup

For a complete printer electronics setup, this heatsink may be paired with the BIGTREETECH CB1, BTT Pi4B Adapter, and Manta M8P By BTT. The CB1 can act as the Klipper/Mainsail compute module, the Pi4B Adapter can provide a Raspberry Pi-style SBC layout, and the Manta M8P can serve as the main 3D printer control board.

Installation & Care

Confirm Compatibility Before Installation

Before installing the CB1 Heat Sink PI4B, confirm that it matches your BIGTREETECH CB1 and BTT Pi4B Adapter setup. Check board revision, mounting hole alignment, component clearance, enclosure clearance, and any included thermal pad or mounting hardware.

Power Off Electronics Before Handling

Disconnect power before installing or removing heatsinks, compute modules, adapter boards, or printer electronics. Avoid handling electronics while the printer is powered.

Use Proper Thermal Contact

If a thermal pad is used, make sure it sits cleanly between the CB1 processor area and the heatsink surface. Poor thermal contact can reduce cooling performance. Avoid dust, oil, fingerprints, or debris on thermal contact surfaces.

Do Not Over-Tighten Mounting Hardware

If screws or standoffs are used, tighten only enough to secure the heatsink. Over-tightening may damage the PCB, module, standoffs, or mounting points.

Check Clearance Around Nearby Components

Before powering the system, confirm that the heatsink does not contact nearby headers, connectors, camera ribbon cables, GPIO pins, fan wiring, or metal surfaces that could cause short circuits.

Use Airflow When Needed

A heatsink improves passive heat dissipation, but enclosed electronics bays may still benefit from airflow. For enclosed printers or warm electronics compartments, consider proper electronics bay ventilation or a compatible cooling fan.

Inspect During Maintenance

Periodically check that the heatsink remains secure and that dust buildup is not blocking airflow. Keep electronics compartments clean and free from loose metal hardware, filament debris, and conductive dust.
