Product Details
Premium V6 Ruby Tip Nozzle for 0.4mm 1.75mm 3D Printing
The V6 Ruby Tip Nozzle is a premium 0.4mm 3D printer nozzle designed for compatible M6 threaded V6-style and E3D-style hotends using 1.75mm filament. This nozzle combines a brass nozzle body with a ruby tip, giving users a practical mix of brass thermal conductivity and high-wear nozzle-tip durability for demanding printing applications.
Your current dnb3D product page describes this nozzle as a long-lasting solution that provides the wear-resistance benefits commonly associated with hardened nozzles while maintaining the thermal conductivity advantages of brass. It is listed with a 0.4mm nozzle diameter, M6 thread, 1.75mm filament compatibility, high corrosion resistance, high rust resistance, non-stick surface, high hardness, high wear resistance, and a maximum temperature rating of 300°C.
Ruby Tip Durability with Brass Thermal Conductivity
Standard brass nozzles are popular because brass transfers heat well, but abrasive filaments can wear the nozzle opening over time. A ruby tip nozzle is designed to provide a harder wear surface at the nozzle exit while keeping the brass body for heat transfer. This makes the V6 Ruby Tip Nozzle useful for users who want a premium nozzle option for demanding prints without fully switching to a lower-conductivity nozzle material.
0.4mm Nozzle for Everyday Printing Balance
The 0.4mm nozzle size is one of the most common choices for FDM 3D printing because it balances print detail, strength, flow rate, and print speed. It works well for prototypes, general printer maintenance, functional parts, and abrasive filament prints where you still want a standard nozzle diameter instead of moving to a larger high-flow opening.
M6 E3D-Style Hotend Compatibility
This nozzle uses an M6 thread and is listed as an E3D aftermarket replica. It is intended for compatible V6-style or E3D-style hotends that accept standard M6 nozzles for 1.75mm filament. Before ordering or installing, confirm your hotend type, thread size, nozzle length, heater block style, and filament diameter. A mismatched nozzle can cause leaks, poor heat transfer, clogging, or heater block damage.
Suitable for a Wide Range of Filaments
Your current product page states that this nozzle is suitable for all filament materials. For best results, always match print temperature, speed, retraction, and flow settings to the filament being used. When printing abrasive materials such as carbon fiber-filled, glow-in-the-dark, metal-filled, wood-filled, or glass-filled filament, inspect your setup regularly and avoid dragging debris across the nozzle tip.
Rated Up to 300°C
This product is listed with a maximum temperature rating of 300°C. Stay within the safe operating limits of your hotend, thermistor, heater cartridge, heat break, printer firmware, and filament. Printing near the upper end of any component’s temperature range should only be done on a properly configured printer.

Technical Reference
Nozzle material, nozzle size, hotend compatibility, and print settings all affect extrusion quality, wear resistance, flow, and print reliability. For general hotend and nozzle compatibility information, see the E3D V6 assembly and nozzle reference.

Installation & Care
Confirm Hotend Compatibility
Before installing the V6 Ruby Tip Nozzle, confirm that your printer uses a compatible M6 threaded V6-style or E3D-style hotend for 1.75mm filament. Check hotend type, thread compatibility, nozzle length, heater block style, and filament diameter before installation.
Handle the Ruby Tip Carefully
The ruby tip is the key wear-resistant feature of this nozzle. Avoid dropping the nozzle, striking the tip, scraping it aggressively, or using hard tools directly on the nozzle opening. Damage to the tip can affect extrusion quality and nozzle performance.
Install Carefully to Avoid Cross-Threading
Start the nozzle by hand whenever possible. If the nozzle does not thread in smoothly, stop and check alignment. Cross-threading can damage the nozzle, heater block, or hotend assembly.
Hot-Tighten Using Proper Printer Procedure
Many V6-style hotends require the nozzle to be tightened at printing temperature so the nozzle seals correctly against the heat break. Follow your printer or hotend manufacturer’s procedure. Use controlled torque and avoid over-tightening to prevent hotend leaks, heater block damage, or nozzle damage.
Stay Within Temperature Limits
This nozzle is listed with a maximum temperature rating of 300°C. Do not exceed the safe limits of your nozzle, hotend, thermistor, heater cartridge, heat break, firmware configuration, PTFE path if present, or filament. High-temperature printing should only be done on a properly configured printer.
Tune Settings After Changing Nozzle Material
A ruby tip nozzle with a brass body may behave differently than standard brass, hardened steel, stainless steel, or titanium nozzles. After installation, run test prints and adjust temperature, speed, flow, and retraction if needed. Watch for under-extrusion, poor layer bonding, blobs, stringing, or inconsistent flow.
Use Care with Abrasive Filaments
This nozzle is designed for high wear resistance, but abrasive filaments still require good filament handling and printer maintenance. Keep filament clean, avoid contaminated spools, and inspect the nozzle and hotend area regularly when printing carbon fiber-filled, glow-in-the-dark, wood-filled, or similar materials.
Keep the Nozzle Clean
Keep the nozzle tip free from burnt filament, debris, and residue. Use appropriate cleaning methods for your filament and printer. Avoid aggressive scraping, steel brushes, or hard tools that could damage the ruby tip or sealing surface.
