Product Details

TriangleLab TBG-Lite Extruder for 1.75mm Filament

The TBG-Lite extruder from TriangleLab is a compact 1.75mm filament extruder designed for compatible 3D printer upgrades, repairs, and custom build projects. It can be used in Bowden or direct drive configurations and includes large precision hardened stainless steel dual drive gears for strong filament grip and consistent pushing force.

Compact Extruder for 1.75mm Filament Setups

The TBG-Lite extruder is built for users who need a lightweight, capable extruder option for compatible 3D printer motion systems. With a listed weight of 143g including the motor, it is a practical choice for builds where space, weight, and controlled filament feeding matter.

TBG-Lite Extruder Drive Design

This extruder uses large precision hardened stainless steel dual drive gears to help grip filament securely during extrusion. The listed 11.53:1 reduction ratio supports controlled filament movement, making it useful for compatible printer upgrades, replacements, and custom extrusion setups.

Bowden or Direct Drive Compatibility

The product page lists this extruder as suitable for Bowden or direct drive use. This gives builders flexibility depending on the printer design, toolhead layout, filament path, and motor setup being used.

This extruder is also listed as the default option with DNB3D’s Rat Rig V-Core 3 standard build kit, but it should not be treated as a Rat Rig-only part. It may be suitable for other compatible 1.75mm filament 3D printer projects where the mounting, motor, firmware, gearing, and filament path are properly matched.

Common Uses

  • Compatible 1.75mm filament 3D printer upgrades
  • Bowden extruder setups
  • Direct drive extruder setups
  • Custom 3D printer builds
  • Replacement extruder assemblies for compatible machines
  • Rat Rig V-Core 3 style builds where this extruder is specified

Motor Options

This TBG-Lite extruder is listed with two motor options: LDO and MOONS. Select the motor option that matches your build requirements, wiring, firmware configuration, and preferred component setup.

Installation & Care

Installation, Handling & Care

Installation

  • Confirm compatibility with your printer, toolhead, mounting pattern, motor option, firmware settings, and filament path before installation.
  • Select the correct LDO or MOONS motor option for your build requirements.
  • Verify Bowden or direct drive setup requirements before mounting the extruder.
  • Set the correct rotation direction, gear ratio, esteps or rotation distance, and motor current according to your printer firmware and hardware setup.
  • Do not force filament through the extruder if resistance, binding, or misalignment is present.
  • Check that filament feeds smoothly before starting a long print.

Handling

  • Keep the drive gears clean and free from filament dust, debris, and loose particles.
  • Handle wiring and motor connectors carefully to avoid bent pins, loose connections, or damaged cables.
  • Avoid dropping the extruder or applying side load to the motor shaft or filament path.

Care

  • Inspect the drive gears periodically for filament buildup or wear.
  • Clean filament dust from the gear area as needed using a suitable brush or compressed air at low pressure.
  • Check mounting screws and motor fasteners periodically, especially after the first few print cycles.
  • Replace worn or damaged components if extrusion becomes inconsistent or slipping continues after adjustment.
  • Keep the extruder within the listed operating temperature limits.
