Product Details

Button LED SK6812 RGBCW — 5050 Addressable RGB + Natural White

The SK6812 RGBCW LED is a compact addressable 5050 RGBW lighting component for compatible electronics projects, toolhead lighting, status indicators, accent lighting, and custom LED applications. It operates on DC5V and combines full-colour RGB output with a natural white channel listed at 4000K–5000K.

SK6812 RGBCW LED for Addressable Lighting Projects

This SK6812 RGBCW LED uses a built-in SK6812 RGBW IC, similar in function to WS2812B-style addressable LEDs. It allows compatible controllers to control colour and brightness through a digital signal, making it useful for compact lighting projects where individual LED control is required.

RGB + Natural White Output

The live product page lists this LED as RGBNW, meaning RGB plus natural white. The natural white channel is listed at 4000K–5000K, which can be useful when a cleaner white light is preferred instead of relying only on mixed RGB channels.

GRBW Colour Order

This LED uses G R B W colour order, not standard RGBW order. When configuring firmware, lighting software, or controller settings, make sure the colour order is set correctly so red, green, blue, and white channels display as expected.

Compact 5050 LED Format

The light source is listed as a 5050 RGBW LED with a 120° viewing angle and 10.0 mm FPCB width. This makes it suitable for compact lighting areas, toolhead button lighting, enclosure indicators, electronics projects, and custom machine lighting where the board size and voltage requirements match the design.

IP30 Non-Waterproof Rating

The current product page lists this LED as IP30 non-waterproof. It should be used in dry, protected locations and should not be exposed to water, coolant, conductive debris, or harsh environments unless properly protected by the final project design.

Common Uses

  • Toolhead button lighting and machine status indicators
  • Compatible 3D printer lighting projects
  • Electronics and microcontroller lighting projects
  • Custom RGB + natural white indicator lights
  • Enclosure, panel, or accent lighting
  • Compact addressable LED installations using compatible 5V control hardware

Verification note: The green wavelength appears to be listed as 515–5250nm on the current page and should be verified before publishing. The recommended power supply line also needs verification because the page lists DC5V20A with 10W, but 5V at 20A equals 100W.

Installation & Care

Installation

  • Confirm that your controller, wiring, firmware, and software support SK6812 RGBW addressable LEDs before installation.
  • Use a regulated DC5V power supply suitable for the total number of LEDs in your project.
  • Set the colour order to G R B W where required. This product is listed as GRBW, not standard RGBW.
  • Verify data direction, polarity, voltage, and grounding before powering the LED.
  • Do not exceed the rated voltage, and avoid connecting the LED while the controller is powered.
  • For machine lighting or toolhead use, secure wiring so vibration and motion do not stress the LED or solder joints.

Handling

  • Handle the LED carefully to avoid damaging the chip, FPCB, solder pads, or wiring points.
  • Protect from static discharge, moisture, metal chips, dust, and conductive debris.
  • Do not sharply bend, crease, or twist the FPCB near the LED or solder pads.
  • Inspect the LED before installation and do not use it if the chip, board, or pads appear damaged.

  • Use only in dry, protected locations unless the final assembly provides suitable environmental protection.
  • Keep the LED and wiring clear of moving parts, hot components, and sharp edges.
  • Check wiring and solder joints periodically on machines exposed to vibration or movement.
  • Replace the LED if it flickers, fails to respond correctly, overheats, or shows visible damage after wiring and controller settings have been verified.
