Product Details

Powerful Rapido UHF Hotend for Ultra High Flow 3D Printing

The Rapido UHF Hotend is an ultra high flow 3D printer hotend designed for performance-focused builds using 1.75mm filament. It is built for high-speed printing, larger flow demands, fast heat-up performance, and advanced DIY printer projects where a standard hotend may limit material output. This hotend is especially relevant for Rat Rig V-Core 3 builds, Voron-style printers, BLV Cube projects, and custom high-performance 3D printers.

Your current dnb3D product page lists this hotend with a high-power cylindrical ceramic heating element up to 115W and a heat-up time from 24°C to 280°C in less than 51 seconds. It can be configured for both standard M6 threaded nozzles and M6 threaded Volcano nozzles, giving builders flexibility when choosing between standard nozzle formats and higher-flow Volcano-style printing.

Ultra High Flow Hotend for Performance Printer Builds

The Rapido UHF Hotend is intended for users who want more flow capacity for faster print speeds, larger nozzle sizes, thicker layers, and demanding filament output. Ultra high flow hotends are useful when the printer motion system, extruder, cooling, slicer profile, and filament can support increased material delivery. For high-speed printing, the full printer setup matters, not only the hotend.

Fast Heat-Up with 115W Ceramic Heating

This hotend uses a high-power cylindrical ceramic heating element rated up to 115W. Your product page lists a heat-up performance of 24°C to 280°C in under 51 seconds. Faster heat-up can reduce waiting time and support stable temperature recovery during high-flow printing, especially when paired with a properly tuned printer, firmware, and power system.

M6 and Volcano Nozzle Configuration Options

The Rapido UHF Hotend can be configured for standard M6 threaded nozzles or M6 threaded Volcano nozzles. This gives the user flexibility when choosing between everyday nozzle setups and larger melt-zone Volcano-style printing. The kit includes one of each 0.4mm nozzle and both silicone socks, helping builders configure the hotend for their preferred setup.

Designed for 1.75mm Filament

This hotend is designed for 1.75mm filament systems. It can be used with a wide range of compatible materials depending on the full printer configuration, nozzle material, temperature requirements, extruder capability, cooling setup, and slicer tuning. Always confirm filament compatibility with your hotend, nozzle, thermistor, heat break, firmware limits, and printer wiring before use.

Rat Rig, Voron, BLV Cube, and DIY Printer Applications

Your current product page notes that the Rapido UHF Hotend comes as the default hotend for the dnb3D Rat Rig V-Core 3 standard kit. It is also a popular style of hotend for Voron-style machines, BLV Cube projects, and other DIY printer builds where high flow, compact packaging, and fast heat-up are desirable. Always confirm mount compatibility, wiring requirements, firmware settings, and printed part fitment before installation.

What’s Included in the Kit

The kit includes the pre-assembled Rapido hotend, groove mount adapter, M2.5 mounting screws, tube collets with clips, a T-V6 plated copper 0.4mm nozzle, hexagon wrench kit, HF silicone sock, thermistor extension cable, and heater extension cable. Your current page also includes a TriangleLab test sheet reference.

Pair with Related 3D Printer Parts

Installation & Care

Confirm Printer and Mount Compatibility

Before installing the Rapido UHF Hotend, confirm that your printer mount, carriage, duct, extruder, firmware, wiring, and cooling setup are compatible. This hotend is used in high-performance printer builds, but fitment depends on the exact machine, printed parts, and configuration.

Verify Heater, Thermistor, Voltage, and Firmware Settings

This hotend uses a high-power ceramic heating element rated up to 115W. Before powering the hotend, confirm heater voltage, thermistor type, firmware temperature sensor settings, maximum temperature limits, PID tuning requirements, and wiring polarity where applicable. Incorrect wiring or firmware setup can damage the printer or create unsafe heating behaviour.

Choose the Correct Nozzle Configuration

The Rapido UHF Hotend can be configured for standard M6 threaded nozzles or M6 threaded Volcano nozzles. Make sure the correct nozzle, silicone sock, and hotend configuration are used together. Mixing incompatible nozzle lengths or socks can cause poor heating, filament leaks, incorrect Z offset, or clearance issues.

Hot-Tighten Nozzles Using Proper Procedure

Follow the hotend manufacturer’s procedure for installing and hot-tightening nozzles. A nozzle that is not seated correctly can leak molten filament around the heater block or heat break. Use controlled torque and avoid damaging the heater block, nozzle, heat break, or thermistor wiring.

Run PID Tuning and Test Prints After Installation

After installing or changing heater hardware, run the appropriate PID tuning or firmware calibration for your printer. Start with conservative print speeds and flow rates, then tune temperature, extrusion multiplier, pressure advance, retraction, cooling, and speed for your filament and nozzle size.

Use High-Flow Settings Carefully

Ultra high flow performance depends on the full printer system, including extruder grip, filament path, nozzle size, melt zone, cooling, slicer settings, and motion capability. Do not assume the hotend alone guarantees high-speed printing. Increase flow and speed gradually while watching for under-extrusion, heat creep, poor layer bonding, or skipped extrusion.

Inspect Wiring and Socks During Maintenance

Check heater and thermistor wires regularly for abrasion, loose connectors, heat damage, or strain near the toolhead. Inspect silicone socks for damage, poor fit, or filament buildup. Replace damaged socks or wiring components before they affect print reliability.

Keep the Hotend Clean

Keep the nozzle, heater block, and silicone sock area free from burnt filament, plastic buildup, dust, and debris. Clean carefully using printer-safe methods. Avoid scraping wires, ceramic heater surfaces, thermistor leads, or delicate hotend components with sharp tools.
