Product Details

PTFE Tube for 1.75mm Filament — 2mm ID x 4mm OD

The PTFE tube 1.75mm filament is opaque white tubing designed to guide filament through compatible direct-drive and Bowden-style extrusion systems. With a 2 mm inner diameter and 4 mm outer diameter, this tubing is commonly used as a filament path liner, replacement Bowden tube, or general filament guide in compatible 1.75 mm filament setups.

PTFE Tube 1.75mm Filament Compatibility

This PTFE tube is intended for systems using 1.75 mm filament. The 2 mm inner diameter provides clearance for filament movement, while the 4 mm outer diameter fits many common Bowden couplers, hotend fittings, and extrusion assemblies designed for this tubing size.

Smooth Filament Feed Path

PTFE tubing is commonly used because it provides a low-friction path for filament movement. A clean, properly cut PTFE tube can help support smoother feeding through compatible extruders, hotends, enclosures, and filament routing setups.

Heat, Corrosion, and UV Resistance

The current product page lists heat resistance up to 260°C, along with corrosion resistance and UV resistance. These properties make PTFE tubing useful for filament handling, equipment routing, replacement tubing, and other compatible hobby or hardware applications where the tubing specifications match the project requirements.

Sold by the Millimeter

This PTFE tube is sold by the millimeter, with a 100 mm minimum order. Order the length needed for your repair, replacement, custom filament path, or equipment setup.

Common Uses

  • Direct-drive filament guide tubing
  • Bowden-style extrusion systems
  • Replacement tubing for 1.75 mm filament setups
  • Filament routing through enclosures or equipment frames
  • Custom extrusion assemblies and repair projects
  • General low-friction tubing applications where 2 mm ID and 4 mm OD are suitable

Installation & Care

Installation, Handling & Care

Installation

  • Confirm that 2 mm ID x 4 mm OD tubing is compatible with your extruder, hotend, coupler, or filament path before installation.
  • Cut the PTFE tube square and clean so the filament path remains smooth.
  • Make sure the tube is fully seated in compatible fittings to reduce gaps or movement.
  • Avoid crushing, kinking, or sharply bending the tube during installation.
  • For hotend use, confirm the tubing temperature rating is suitable for the filament and equipment setup.

Handling

  • Keep the inside of the tube clean and free from dust, debris, and filament shavings.
  • Handle carefully to avoid dents, flattened spots, or damaged ends.
  • Store unused tubing loosely coiled or straight to help prevent kinks.

Care

  • Inspect periodically for discoloration, wear, deformation, heat damage, or filament drag.
  • Replace the tube if feeding becomes inconsistent or if the tube end becomes burned, enlarged, crushed, or contaminated.
  • Keep filament paths clean to reduce friction and improve feed consistency.
  • Do not exceed the temperature limits recommended for your specific equipment and material setup.
