Product Details

Reliable 24 Volt Cartridge Heater for 3D Printer Hotend Blocks

The 24 Volt Cartridge Heater is a replacement hotend heating element designed for compatible 24V 3D printer heater blocks. This heater cartridge measures 6mm diameter x 20mm length, provides 60W of heating power, and includes 1 meter wire leads for installation into compatible 3D printer toolheads and wiring setups.

Your current dnb3D product page lists this heater as a 24V cartridge heater for fast and steady 3D printer hotend nozzle block heating. It features a grounded stainless steel cartridge, silicon-coated fiberglass sleeve rated to 250°C, UL3239 20AWG wire leads rated to 200°C, and a listed heating temperature of 500°C.

24V 60W Heating for Compatible Hotends

A 60W cartridge heater can provide strong heat-up performance and improved temperature recovery compared with lower-power heater cartridges, depending on the hotend, heater block, firmware, power supply, and wiring. This makes the 24 Volt Cartridge Heater useful for replacement repairs, hotend upgrades, high-flow hotends, and printer builds that require a compatible 24V heater cartridge.

6mm x 20mm Cartridge Size

The 6mm x 20mm cartridge format is a common heater size used in many 3D printer hotend heater blocks. Before ordering or installing, confirm your heater block bore diameter, cartridge length, voltage, wattage, wiring length, connector style, and firmware limits. A cartridge that is too loose, too tight, too long, or electrically incompatible can cause poor heating, unsafe operation, or hotend damage.

1 Meter Wire Leads for Toolhead Routing

This heater includes 1 meter wire leads, giving builders extra length for routing through the toolhead, cable chain, wire loom, or electronics bay depending on the printer design. Always secure heater wiring so it cannot rub against sharp edges, moving belts, fans, hot surfaces, or pinch points.

Grounded Stainless Steel Cartridge Construction

The heater cartridge is listed with a grounded stainless steel cartridge body. Stainless construction helps provide a durable cartridge shell for hotend use, while proper grounding and safe wiring practices are important for printer reliability. Always follow your printer electronics and controller-board requirements when wiring heater components.

High-Temperature Sleeve and Wire Leads

The product page lists a silicon-coated fiberglass sleeve rated to 250°C and UL3239 20AWG wire leads rated to 200°C. These details matter because heater wiring operates close to a hotend. Keep all wiring properly strain-relieved, protected, and routed away from the nozzle, heater block, and moving printer components.

Pair with Related 3D Printer Parts

Technical Reference

Cartridge heaters must match the voltage, wattage, dimensions, firmware settings, and wiring requirements of the printer. For general safety and printer firmware context, review your controller board and firmware documentation before installing or replacing heater hardware.

Installation & Care

Confirm 24V Compatibility Before Installation

Before installing the 24 Volt Cartridge Heater, confirm that your printer is designed for a 24V heater cartridge and that your controller board, power supply, firmware, wiring, and hotend are compatible with a 60W heater. Do not install a heater with the wrong voltage or wattage.

Check Cartridge Size and Heater Block Fit

This cartridge measures 6mm diameter x 20mm length. Confirm that your heater block accepts this cartridge size. The heater should fit securely in the block without excessive force and without being loose. A poor fit can reduce heating performance or create unsafe operation.

Secure the Heater Cartridge Properly

Install the cartridge fully into the heater block and secure it according to your hotend manufacturer’s instructions. Make sure the retaining screw or cl holds the cartridge safely without crushing or damaging the heater body.

Route Wiring Safely

Route the 1m wire leads away from the nozzle, heater block, fan blades, belts, pulleys, sharp edges, and moving parts. Use strain relief where possible. Heater wires should not be pulled tight or allowed to flex sharply during printer movement.

Verify Firmware and Thermal Protection

After installation, confirm that firmware heater settings, maximum temperature limits, thermistor settings, PID tuning, and thermal runaway protection are properly configured. A heater replacement should never be tested unattended until stable temperature control is confirmed.

Run PID Tuning After Replacement

After replacing or changing heater wattage, run PID tuning or the appropriate temperature calibration for your printer firmware. Watch the first heat-up carefully to confirm stable temperature response, normal current draw, and proper hotend behaviour.

Inspect During Maintenance

Periodically inspect heater wiring, sleeve condition, connectors, strain relief, and the heater block area for heat damage, loose connections, burnt insulation, or filament buildup. Replace damaged wiring or heater components before continued use.

Use Proper Electrical Safety

Disconnect printer power before installing or wiring the heater. If you are unsure about electrical work, controller-board wiring, or firmware configuration, consult your printer documentation or a qualified technician. Incorrect heater wiring can damage electronics or create a fire risk.
